BIGGEST CHOOSER 2023 WEEK SIX

As we move past Valentine’s Day and push towards the end of February and look forward to March (and the first day of Spring), we reflect on our week six results with our 3 Observations.

• “You can’t out-train a bad diet.”

Don’t know who said it or when, but here is where the rubber meets the road. All the lifting, running, and sweating can’t overcome your body’s need for high-octane fuel. As Yankee catcher Yogi Berra once said, “90% of it is half-mental.” Incorporate smart and sensible dietary habits combined with diligent, consistent gym work and “presto” – weight loss success. Of course, to quote another movie wag, “If it were easy, everyone would do it.”

• Steady as She Goes

Team Turquoise continues to lead the competition, clocking in with 6.00% body weight loss this week. However, lurking in second is now Army Green (4.36%) having overtaken Team Black (4.01%). Team Red has made a strong move to fourth at 3.42%. Still anyone’s game at the unofficial mid-point.

• “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”. – Spock.

Listen, when Spock speaks (try that three times), people listen. Kind of like those E.F. Hutton commercials if you’re old enough to remember! Nonetheless, while this certainly is a team competition, individual performances often carry the day. This week Jennie Hyde led the Red team surge with a dynamic 3.83% body weight loss to earn Chooser of the Week honors. Other notable individual efforts included Dinetta Richardson (2.48% Army Green), Selena Garrett (1.92% Team Grey), Gerald Keith Umberger (1.79% Team Turquoise), and our friend Traci O’Rourke (1.62% Team Navy Blue). Way to go one and all.
