Integrated Hapkido – with Master Jeremy Buchholz

January 3rd, 2019

A very exciting offer for Granite Falls members only!

Starting in January Granite Falls Club will be offering Integrated Hapkido classes with Master Jeremy Buchholz.

Hapkido is a Korean martial art that includes kicks, punches, and blocks similar to Karate or Taekwondo, but also focuses on joint locks, pressure points, and disrupting an opponent’s balance or structure. The class is called ‘Integrated’ Hapkido because the curriculum will also incorporate principles from several other styles of martial arts as well including Jujutsu and Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Master Jeremy Buchholz is a respected martial artist and teacher who has over 20 years experience teaching, and holds high black belts in multiple disciplines. He has opened, operated, and passed down his own very successful chain of martial arts schools. Besides teaching individuals and groups of students across the country, Master Jeremy has also taught law enforcement officers and military personnel, and has even been inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame. After passing his school on to one of his black belts in 2016, Master Jeremy moved to the Raleigh area and eventually accepted the roll of Fitness Director here at Granite Falls Club.

The offer of classes with Master Jeremy is such a great opportunity for members for many reasons. First, the level of expertise that Master Jeremy brings to the club is unmatched. His history in the martial arts as well as working as a narcotics and special operations officer, give him a practical, no-fluff approach to his instruction that he balances with a personal interest in each student.

Another exciting aspect of this new offering is the value. Many martial arts schools are over crowded and run by low ranking black belts who have little to no experience actually teaching. These schools are sometimes called ‘Mc-Dojo’s’, meaning they are just running as many people as they can through a quick program without much depth or real world value. Master Jeremy rejects this approach. Not only does he have many years of experience, he will be only accepting a limited number of students so that instruction will remain personal and of the highest quality.

While the national average cost for martial arts lessons in those overcrowded schools is around $120/mo., members of Granite Falls will only pay $79 (ages 15+) for their more intimate classes ($49 for ages 9-14). Considering the class size and level of the instructor, this is an unprecedented value!

Much can be gained by becoming a student of the martial arts. Discipline, focus, and confidence and just a few things besides the obvious self defense skills. Students will be required to show discipline and respect as well as give 100% at all times. In turn, Master Jeremy is committed to teaching as much as he knows to any student who displays a desire to learn. This class is appropriate for anyone wanting to learn and is willing to commit to giving their best at all times.

You are invited to attend one of the free introductory classes which will feature a trial lesson followed by a Q&A session to follow. The dates of these classes are January 8th at 7:00pm (ages 15+) and January 10th at 5:30pm (ages 9-14). A special offer will be announced at each of these trial classes as well! We hope to see you there!
